It’s great having dog-friendly shops, but often some are restricted by being in a shopping centre that isn’t dog-friendly (and only allows guide and assistance dogs). Luckily, there is a small but growing number of shopping centres in the UK that are dog-friendly, and here’s hoping that the number of them continues to grow.

Great news – Brent Cross in London is dog-friendly! They accept well-behaved dogs, as long as they are on static, non-extendable leads. They do have some dog rules, and some stores may not be dog friendly even though the centre is, so it’s always worth checking before you go into the shop – there’s a list of shops which do allow dogs on the shopping centre’s dog rules page.

If you’re looking for a stylish place to shop and eat in the Kings Cross area of London, Coal Drops Yard is it. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, including at some restaurants such as Casa Pastor. Make sure to check in advance before you enter, though.

Westquay Shopping Centre can be found in the heart of Southampton and is home to a wide range of retailers, including high-street favourites like John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, and Zara, as well as designer brands like Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger.

Westquay shopping centre is dog friendly! Well-behaved dogs are more than welcome at Westquay – not all shops are dog friendly at Westquay, but look out for the dog-friendly sticker which will be displayed in participating shop windows. Castlepoint shopping centre in Bournemouth is dog friendly as long as they are well behaved. Individual shops will have their own policies, so make sure to check these before entering each shop with your doggy pals.

Dogs are allowed in the malls and many shops, but as with other shopping centres, each shop has its own policies, so make sure to check those before entering each shop; dog-friendly shops will display a pink ‘We Are Dog Friendly’ sign in their window, otherwise you can check out the centre’s dog-friendly policy page for a list of shops and eateries that are dog friendly.

The Prince Bishops Place Shopping Centre in Durham is dog-friendly! However, it is important to note that individual stores may have their own policies on allowing dogs inside. It is always best to check with the store before bringing your dog in. The centre also has a helpful set of dog rules.

The Quadrant shopping centre in Swansea is proudly the first dog-friendly shopping mall in Wales! The whole centre, alongside 18 of the shops within it, is dog friendly, welcoming well-behaved dogs on leads. The Darwin, Pride Hill and Riverside Shopping Centres in Shrewsbury are dog-friendly. Dogs are welcome on a lead throughout the centre, including in the common areas and most of the shops.
