It’s great having dog-friendly shops, but often some are restricted by being in a shopping centre that isn’t dog-friendly (and only allows guide and assistance dogs). Luckily, there is a small but growing number of shopping centres in the UK that are dog-friendly, and here’s hoping that the number of them continues to grow.

Great news – Brent Cross in London is dog-friendly! They accept well-behaved dogs, as long as they are on static, non-extendable leads. They do have some dog rules, and some stores may not be dog friendly even though the centre is, so it’s always worth checking before you go into the shop – there’s a list of shops which do allow dogs on the shopping centre’s dog rules page.

Westquay Shopping Centre can be found in the heart of Southampton and is home to a wide range of retailers, including high-street favourites like John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, and Zara, as well as designer brands like Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger.

Westquay shopping centre is dog friendly! Well-behaved dogs are more than welcome at Westquay – not all shops are dog friendly at Westquay, but look out for the dog-friendly sticker which will be displayed in participating shop windows. The Quadrant shopping centre in Swansea is proudly the first dog-friendly shopping mall in Wales! The Darwin, Pride Hill and Riverside Shopping Centres in Shrewsbury are dog-friendly. Dogs are welcome on a lead throughout the centre, including in the common areas and most of the shops.
